The Equus Veterinary Service Staff
Steve D. Sundholm, DVM
Dr. Sundholm's interest in veterinary medicine developed as he was growing up in Iowa. An avid horse lover since childhood, Dr. Sundholm trained his own horses and was accomplished in barrel racing and pole bending. After graduating from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978, Dr. Sundholm practiced equine and small animal medicine in his hometown for five years. Since 1983, he has been an equine exclusive practitioner in the Oregon City area. A past president of the Northwest Equine Practitioners Association (NEPA), Dr. Sundholm maintains memberships in several professional associations including AAEP, AVMA, OVMA, NEPA, and the International Association of Equine Dentistry (IAED). Dr. Sundholm has taken many extra courses in equine dentistry to supplement his education. He has also been tested and passed all levels of certification in the IAED and is now an examiner for this organization, administering dental certification testing for other practitioners across the country. Dr. Sundholm is excited about all aspects of equine veterinary medicine, especially surgery, reproduction, lameness and dentistry. Instrumental in the design and building of the new clinic, Dr. Sundholm welcomes the opportunities for enhanced client services. In his spare time, Dr. Sundholm enjoys bird hunting with his dogs, ballroom dancing, a variety of outdoor recreational activities, and power tools.
Jeff A. Hall, DVM
Dr. Hall has been a valued member of the Equus team since August 2002. Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Hall received his veterinary degree from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. In 2002, Dr. Hall completed an internship in equine medicine and surgery. At Equus, he has enjoyed building lasting relationships with his patients and clients. Dr. Hall's strongest interests include reproduction, internal medicine and surgery. He recently completed a reproductive short-course at Colorado State University concentrating on management of reproductive abnormalities in the mare and stallion. Dr. Hall is an active member of AAEP, AVMA, OVMA, and NEPA. In addition to his enthusiasm for veterinary medicine, Dr. Hall's interests include skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and playing with his two sons Dylan and Hayden. Quality of life and family are top priorities for Dr. Hall and his wife, who enjoys her work as a small animal veterinarian at Murrayhill Veterinary Hospital in Beaverton.
Trevor L. Ferguson, DVM
Dr. Ferguson joined the Equus team in July 2008 after completing an Equine Field Service internship at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to his involvement in the management of patients presented at Virginia Tech, Dr. Ferguson participated in the instruction and evaluation of veterinary students. He gained valuable experience in all aspects of equine ambulatory medicine, as well as specialty services such as theriogenology. Dr. Ferguson managed the reproductive services at Virginia Techs Smithfield Equestrian Breeding Farm. Originally from the Mulino area, Dr. Ferguson received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Oregon University in 2003 and his veterinary degree from Oregon State University in 2007. His equine background includes externships at several clinics in Oregon and playing polo at Eastern Oregon University. Dr. Ferguson is very enthusiastic about equine veterinary medicine and has special interests in lameness and reproduction, especially fresh-cooled/frozen semen and embryo transfers. He is a member of AAEP, AVMA, OVMA, and NEPA. When not working at the clinic, Dr. Ferguson enjoys bird hunting with his dog and fly fishing.

Front Office Staff
SHIRLEY KOHLER, a dedicated Equus employee since 1995, has experienced many changes and considerable growth in the practice over the years, advancing to reception and billing department supervisor. Shirleys horse experience includes the operation of her own boarding facility for 20 years, as well as 4-H leadership since 1989, including several years as 4-H Horse Advisory Chair. In her spare time, Shirley enjoys trail riding and line dancing.
VICKI WEED, has enjoyed her work as receptionist at Equus since 1996. Vickis first horse, given to her before she could walk, was her constant companion as a child. Her love of horses and desire to work with people provide her with inspiration to continue learning about horse care in order to provide excellent client service.
PAM GEISLINGER, also had horses in her childhood, until boys became more important in her teen years. However, Pam "came to her senses" several years ago and bought another horse. Pams enthusiasm and prior veterinary receptionist experience contribute to her success as our newest team member.
ANGELA SUNDHOLM, a former high school math teacher, manages the business aspects of the veterinary practice. Angela has fond memories of her pony Sassy, husband Steves POA Skeeter, and a crazy horse show event called the "panty race." Angela assisted in the design and building of the new clinic and is excited about the expansion in client services.
